If you see no line sticking out of the ports on the trimmer head, you may not have bump-fed the line often enough. Push the bump head down with one hand and pull out line with your other hand until you can touch the cutting guard with the tip of the line.
If the line is too thick or too thin it can continuously feed the line. Make sure you are using the correct line thickness rated for your machine. The spool houses the line for the trimmer and has the line wound around it. It is located inside the trimmer head.
Cable ties as strimmer cord

Have you ever been in the middle of tidying the edges of your lawn when your strimmer cord gives up on you? Cable ties offer a great solution but if your first choice of ties break too, consider using thicker ones.

The trimmer line might be the wrong size. If the trimmer line is too thick or too thin for the trimmer head, the trimmer line won`t feed. Make sure you are using the correct trimmer line for your string trimmer.

If the trimmer line is tangling, you may need to cut the grass or weeds in smaller sections from the top down. When cutting particularly tall or thick grass or weeds, the line can get tangled around the grass and cause a jam.

String does not seem to feed automatically frequently have to take the spool out to re thread through the lottle holes
ANSWER : These things can be very sensitive with how the sting is coiled on the spool. Take your time and try to get it perfect. Look at the pre strung replacement spools for an example. also inspect the lever, usually under where the spool sits. Make sure its not to dirty and moves freely. After that when you want it to feed quickly pull and release the trigger a couple times. If you dont want it to feed the when you pull the trigger be sure to maintain how far you have it pulled back, then release it a little slower than usual. Lastly wait a few seconds before pulling again. If this doesnt work the lever may be worn out and defective. But they are super cheap and easy to replace.

Homelite curved shaft timmer line problem
ANSWER : It sounds like its a bump feed which they usually are, try turning on the machine and bump the head off the ground. If this fails to work try rewinding the line on tightly and neatly with no parts of the line crossing over as this could knot it. Quick tip most heads have a arrow pointing the direction to wind the line.

Let me know if that works.

I cannot get the line to feed as it is used up. bumping does no good. the spring is in place. thanks for your help
ANSWER : Did you wind in the new string in the correct direction? The string should be wound in the SAME direction that the head spins.

I cant remove the spool to change the line. it appears to be stuck.
ANSWER : Well there is either a screw knob that must be unscrewed first, or you aren’t removing it correctly. Some just Pull/pop right off. Others must be pushed in and twisted (Like a child proof cap) usually in the opposite direction the line spins. Pull the cord a tiny bit to see which way it spins, then push down/in on the spool (its spring loaded) and twist opposite. Most of today’s trimmers will give you the spool like that. Putting it back on it simply the reverse action.

Auto feed doesn’t work
ANSWER : Take the end apart and make sure the line is not getting bound up or is not over filled to where it can not move freely

I have the tb70ss and I have continuously had issues with the string feeding out so quickly it cannot be clipped by the blade. I have followed the instructions on the direction to wind the string and I am using the .95 line as recommended. I use the two holes to feed the line in and then place my finger between the two lines and wind until only a short amount remains. Once I start up the line just starts feeding and clipping until it feeds out too much and then I am done.
ANSWER : It sounds like you are winding the line in the wrong direction. You should wind the line in the opposite direction that the head spins during operation.Good Luck!Jim
