And if it is a self propelled, you will probably need to remove or loosen the plastic cover that protects the self propelled belt. You are looking for a nickel sized plug that has a square peg. Your car`s oil drain plug has a very important, if often underrated job. The plug, which sits at the bottom or side of the oil pan, is charged with keeping your motor`s vital life blood — its lubricant — from pouring out due to the constant effects of both gravity and the pressure that`s generated inside the crankcase.
The oil drain plug is a screw plug made of metal or plastic. The oil drain plug with sealing ring seals the drain opening. This opening is needed to drain waste oil when changing the oil before refilling.
Using the Oil Drain Plug

If your engine is equipped with a drain plug, it would be located under the lawn mower deck. Look carefully as the drain plug may be obstructed by clumps of turf or debris, the belt guard or the mower blade (use caution when moving the blade).

Get a dog dish sized bowl and catch the waste oil for disposal.

Engine ceased due to lack of oil; what can I do to get it started again? Added oil, will not start.
ANSWER : The only miracle here is to pull the spark plug – turn the unit with the plug hole up – pour MARVEL MYSTERY OIL in it and hope for the best. MMO is available at ACE Hardware. Leave it there for 3 days – with the plug back in – then drain it – you will want to drain the oil you put in as well or you may have oil everywhere. To remove the MM oil – then remove the plug and try to start it. You may also need to remove the rope starter and turn it with a large plumbers wrench. This is pure luck at this point – so best of it Gary @ Fix Ya

What type of oil does it use? – Troy-Bilt 4-Cycle Curve Shaft Gas String Trimmer #41ADT41C966
ANSWER : I think all of these 4-stroke trimmers use SAE 30HD oil. I recommend synthetic. If you use synthetic, you can get away with using a multi-viscosity like 10W-30 if you can’t find straight SAE30 synthetic, but don’t use muti-viscosity conventional oil in these machines.

Missing manual where is oil plug to drain oil?
ANSWER : My friend has a mower that you have to put plastic over the gas tank and put the gas cap on and tip it over to drain the oil. But first look under the deck by the blade and see if there is a plug that a 3/8 ratchet fits in or a large headed bolt. If there is that is your drain plug.

good luck and let me know if this helps.
