How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

There should be two screws on the front of the carburetor, which are used to adjust the air and fuel mixture. These often look like flat-head screws, and you can use a screwdriver to turn them, adjusting the amount of fuel and air mixing in the carb.
There are two screw control on the car`s carburettor, they are idle speed air screw and idle mixture air screw.
Run the engine for five minutes at half throttle to bring it to its operating temperature. Then, turn the idle mixture screw slowly clockwise until the engine begins to slow. Turn the screw in the opposite direction until the engine again begins to slow. Finally, turn the screw back to the midpoint.
Forms of adjusting screws

This draw down causes the cutter to be drawn down as well. For this we have two types of adjusting screws: HMA/HDA solid type and NBA rubberized type.

Carb accessory guru Lonn Peterson at Thunder Products tells us that generally, if the adjustment screw is on the engine side of the carb slide it is a fuel screw and thus can be used to fine tune low speed fuel delivery.
Carburetors have a variety of bolt patterns (measured by length and width) and it is important to note that you need to allow adequate space for the throttle blades to open and close without binding against the intake manifold`s ports.
Most carburetors have a unique identification number that can be used to confirm its make, model, and specifications. The carburetor number is typically located on a metal tag attached to the carburetor. On most aftermarket carburetors, this ID is stamped or etched directly onto the carburetor body.
If the carburetor is new or has been rebuilt, you should set it to “factory” adjustment. You can do so by adjusting the idle mixture screws to 1.5-2 turns out, and the idle speed screw to 1-1.5 turns in. Warm the Engine Up. The engine`s running temperature directly correlates with proper air and fuel mixtures.
The throttle on a gasoline engine is typically a butterfly valve. In a fuel-injected engine, the throttle valve is placed on the entrance of the intake manifold, or housed in the throttle body. In a carbureted engine, it is found in the carburetor.

My ryobi bc30 starts but will not stay running. I only see one screw for the carb but it dont seem like it adjusts anything. I have turned the screw all the way in and out doesnt fix anything. i do not have an air filter in it. could that be the problem? I am also using a gas mix that is the same for my chainsaw. could that be the problem? getting very irritated with it and ready to just toss it in the trash.
ANSWER : Hi there,
The problem is that the diaphame in the carb. is worn-out and you need to replace that.It is very important that you run your machine with a air filter as the small particals can damage the diaphrame. Also remember that the older machines run on a mix of 30 to 1 and the new machines run on a 25 to 1 mix.
Trust that this will solve your problem
