Your check valve is probably bad, the one that hookes to small tube that goes from tank to cylinder, what this does is lets the cylinder of pump fill with air and then when it calls for air and tries to start pump, it can’t because it is air locked, had this happen before, I picked one up at curb someone was throwing out cause they thought it had an electrical problem, took it home and ran it checked it out and found this check valve to be defective,worn out. There are two reasons an air compressor can trip a breaker, electrical and mechanical. Most commonly, the motor is pulling too much amperage but before diving into the electrical circuit. Inspect for mechanical issues, such as the pump being stiff or locked up.

I have a husqvarna 323L string trimmer. I stored it after running the tank & carb dry for about two years. I fueled it, then started it, & it ran for a minute then died like I turned the switch off. Since it would not restart, I found the fuel filter had broken off the hardened fuel line & it sucked gummy crap out of the tank & into the carb. Failing at cleaning the carb, I finally put a new carb on it & replaced the pump, hoses & filter. It has ran good till this year. I winterized it with stabilizer & left it with a full tank over the winter. The gas in the tank was gone when I got ready to use it this year. I filled the tank with premix, checked for leaks, then started it. It would run fine for about half a tank, start idling poorly (lean) then cutoff & refuse to restart till I refilled the tank. I finally found the tank had cracks & was letting pressure out of the tank & apparently this was causing the carb to lose it’s ability to siphon gas out of the tank. So I replaced the tank which came with new hoses & a filter, which I properly installed to the carb. It cranked right up, but when it runs a half tank, the carb quits sucking gas out of the tank. When I pump to prime the carb, it moves the fuel into the carb, but the pump never gets hard like it does when I prime the carb when the motor is cold. I have to keep refilling the tank, prime, & then it starts & runs until the tank gets about half empty. The new fuel filter is down in the gas tank properly, but It will not run after it shuts off until I refill the tank & prime. I’m baffled. New tank, new hoses, new filter, new carb, & I can find no leaks in the fuel system. It runs strong. The 323L is a two-stroke & it always cranks on the second pull from cold on a full tank. Any ideas?

ANSWER : You may have a faulty voltage regualtor that is blowing fuse. Have you tried a fuse that is 5 more amps?

fills tank just fine but when it calls for more air it blows breaker its on a 15 amp would i need to be on a 20 ??

Kobalt air compressor 80 gallon. I run this compressor to drive a CNC plasma cutting torch. I use a 1/2 inch pvc air line for about 40 feet. A gage at the cnc computer system will show 125 lbs (set by pressure gage) and is fed 150 lbs from the compressor. While cutting the plasma fails due to low air. The gage at this time shows about 60 lbs of pressure. The compressor still pushing 125 to 150 lbs of air. When the torch stops air flow (cooling) the needle very slowly moves back up to 125 lbs. This indicating the air may not be delivered from the compressor. No regulator at compressor. Using a brass shut off valve before the regulator at plasma torch. What can possibly keep the air of 150 lbs at compressor from reaching the regulator quickly. Is a vapor lock of some sort possible? I disconnect the hose which connects compressor from the pvc and allow it to depressurize completely and when I hook it back up it does fine for 10 minutes or so. When the low air starst, it stops after every cut.

ANSWER : Sounds like you are burning a lot of oil or you used two cycle fuel instead of regular gasoline. If you used the wrong fuel, drain tank and carburetor and it will clear up pretty quick. If you used the right fuel, did you overfill the oil? If oil level is where it should be, and the right fuel was used, then the alternatives from there fall into the not so good catagory, and they all involve at least some amount of engine disassembly.Good luck.
