How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Pressure from the engine can put stress on the oil filler cap, causing oil to leak out, if the cap is broken, loose, or even missing. The most common site of leaking oil in automobiles is the valve cover gasket. It is a seal that prevents leakage and joins the valve cover and the engine.
What can be the cause of lube oil blowing out from a dipstick tube? Change the PCV valve, and check your oil level. If you have filled to the point that the dipstick tube is immersed in oil, crankcase blowby will force oil out the tube.
Why Is Oil Coming Out of the Lawn Mower`s Exhaust? There is oil coming out of the lawn mower`s exhaust becauseof extreme tilting, excess oil, a clogged air filter, carburetor imbalance, worn valves, or engine damage.
Oil coming out of the dipstick receptacle indicates positive pressure in your crankcase; it should be negative. The PCV valve is there to control the flow of blow-by gasses in the crankcase as they are drawn into the intake manifold by engine vacuum.
The good news is that most car oil leaks start small. In fact, a puddle between 1 to 2 inches in diameter, or what`s referred to as “seepage,” usually don`t represent an immediate threat to your engine. Here are a few of the reasons your engine might be leaking oil unexpectedly.
Common causes of oil leaks include degraded engine gaskets, leaks from the oil pan, or improper or worn out seals. An oil leak also can be caused by a loose or missing oil pan drain plug or deteriorated valve cover gaskets.
Overfilling a lawn mower oil tank will negatively affect engine performance and possibly prevent the mower from starting. Too much oil in a lawn mower can easily clog the air filter, foul spark plugs, and potentially cause a hydro-lock, which could bend the connection rods in a multi-cylinder mower.
If you`ve noticed your lawn mower smoking and leaking oil, it`s most likely due to a dirty air filter. The air filter in an engine keeps debris and dirt out of it, while the grass and dust accumulate over time. When the air filters are clogged, oil can leak into the engine and out of the exhaust system.
Oil Leaks Can Expose You To Hazardous Fumes

One of the most serious dangers posed by oil leaks is exposure to hazardous fumes. These fumes, if inhaled in large enough quantities, can lead to serious problems for your lungs and respiratory system.

Oil toxicity: Oil consists of many different toxic compounds. These toxic compounds can cause severe health problems like heart damage, stunted growth, immune system effects, and even death.
You won`t see the oil looking through the filler cap, as gravity means it will drop down to the sump, hence the long dipstick is needed to check the oil level. Water loss can be many things aside from a head gasket, pressure test the system to check for leaks? You can buy a tester, or take it to a garage to check over.
And for oil filters, we suggest tightening it as tight as you can get it by hand – so you turn it until it stops naturally, and then you might be able to twist it another quarter of a turn.

Dont know what type of oil to use – Toro Power Lawn Mower
ANSWER : Put straight 30 weight motor oil in it. Not 10W30 or any multi-viscosity oil. Straight 30 weight motor oil. If you’re doing a complete oil change, then you may want to use Synthetic 30 weight, which will last longer between oil changes and also make your engine last longer (but it costs more too).
