If the charging LED flashes red on your battery charger, the battery is defective.
Riding mowers use a 12 volt electrical system. The battery should have 12.6 volts when fully charged and in good condition. If you are experiencing a problem with your product, find a solution by using our support assistant.
Tractors and Lawn Mower batteries usually have nut & bolt terminals. You will need a wrench to loosen the connectors. Disconnect negative (black) terminal first, then positive (red) terminal.

Normal LED Indicator Meanings
A solid RED LED indicates there is an issue with the battery connection. A flashing RED LED indicates an error. A solid YELLOW LED indicates the charger is in Bulk charging. A flashing YELLOW LED indicates the charger is in Absorption Mode.
An illuminated battery light could be due to a number of issues, including: A loose or corroded battery cable. A problem with the alternator or voltage regulator. Damaged cells or plates inside the battery.
If the light blinks red in about 90 seconds after battery insertion, then the battery voltage is too low. Leave the batteries in the charger, while the light continues to blink red, for about 24 hours. Then remove the battery and try again.
Listen for a Clicking Sound
Starting up your lawnmower can tell you a lot about its health. Grab the pull cord or turn the key in the ignition. If you hear a clicking sound, replacement batteries are probably in your future. The motor is trying to draw power from the battery, but it`s not receiving enough juice.
If you are using a 10-amp charger, your mower`s battery should charge in approximately one hour. Of course, connecting the battery to a lawn mower battery charger that has fewer amps may extend charging time.
The red one is positive (+), the black one is negative (-). Never connect the red cable to the negative battery terminal or a vehicle with a dead battery.
Charger LED will will blink red when charging and will be steady green when complete. Battery must be powered on with the power button illuminated to accept a charge.

Lawn mower cranck but wont start…
ANSWER : Since you already checked for spark and air I would drain all the fuel out of it and check that fuel for water. Over time some lawn mowers end up with contaminated fuel. You can see the water sitting on the bottom of the fuel if you let it stand for a bit in a small plastic bowl.
Be sure to empty and dry out you fuel can as well. Especially if the mower stopped running right after a refuel. Which is a good sign your gas can is contaminated too.

I have had a poulan pro 550 series push mower for almost 1 year at the end of the season last year the mower would start briefly and then stop. i have cleaned out the air filter and that did not help.the mower started, i made one revolution around the yard 3/4th of the way the mower quit. I then primed the mower it started then quit and now it will not start at all. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do. Thanks
ANSWER : There is a little spring that works the carburetor arm. If that popped off then the mower will not run.

ANSWER : First thing to do is find out if it’s the battery or the mower. Disconnect the battery and leave it overnight. If it’s dead in the morning, you need a new battery. My battery is only 1 year old, i cant get it to hold a charge
ANSWER : My battery had the same issue. I opened the WA3218 battery box and found one of the two 12V 10AH batteries had overheated due to an internal hot spot. You can either buy a new WA3218 battery from Sears for about $82 or if you are a handyman save a few bucks and change the two Model 6 DZM -10 batteries for new ones at about $25 each. Need to change both at the same time. The battery wires are soldered. Either cut them off and crimp on new HD yellow terminals or un-solder & re-solder them. I found a 12V 15AH replacement (50 % more capacity) model UBS12150 which will fit inside the battery box for about $37.50 ea. Peter
