Depending on your leaf blower, you can either clean the fuel filter or replace it. For example, if you have a side-mount fuel filter, you can clean or replace the felt filter element. However, if you have an inline fuel filter, your only option is replacing the entire unit.
For most engines like lawnmowers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, and generators, experts recommend that you use unleaded gas with an 87-octane rating and a max of 10% ethanol. This is typically the regular gas you find at the pump. DO NOT use 15% ethanol or higher.
The fuel filter will be located either inside the fuel tank or fitted into the fuel line between the tank and the fuel pump. Some fuel tanks have internal, non-serviceable fuel filters.
Most vehicles have rubber fuel hoses connecting the fuel pipes on the chassis to the fuel pump or carburetor on the engine. Rubber hoses are flexible and can be cut to length as required, but they have a tendency to perish over time and can rub through if not properly secured.
A typical fuel system
A single fuel pipe runs from the tank, under the floor of the car to a mechanical pump on the engine. The pump delivers fuel to the carburettor. Whenever you check fuel pipes, disconnect the battery to prevent stray sparks igniting petrol or petrol vapour.
Replacing the fuel hose on your vehicle is going to take time and patience, and it could require getting underneath the car. It`s also going to take the right tools for the job.
Each time the car cranks and runs, the fuel hoses will have transport the fuel to the combustion chamber. These hoses can last anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 miles depending on what they are made of.
Using a fuel line disconnect tool helps you disconnect the fuel line from the connector without causing damage. The tools put the right amount of pressure on the connection to disconnect with minimal effort on your part. Many fuel lines only disconnect using the specialty tool.

ANSWER : Just go from the fuel tank straight to the carb and the primer. The pipes are a set length so you don’t have to worry about threading it all around the blower.. just take the most direct route from the tank to the carb..!

ANSWER : Either your fuel
is broken inside the tank or your carb is blocked up inside. Empty the fuel tank and look inside and see if you fuel inlet line has a little plastic or metal filter on the end. *(this is called a “clunk”) The clunk keeps the fuel line in gas no matter which way you have the blower tilted. Chances are you will see the clunk just laying in the bottom of the tank with whats left of the fuel line still attached. If the fuel line and clunk are intact then your need to get a diagram of the carb and do a dissembly and cleaning. The carbs have tiny screen filters which jam up with debris and gelled fuel. So a rebuild kit with new filter would be a good thing to get if your carb is cruddy. You can look online at Poulanpro and see which kit you need to buy. They are 10-15 bucks usually. New fuel lines is also a good idea if you are going this deep into the unit. Be safe and good luck!

Remmoved the fuel tank to re-insert the fuel lines more easily. Where does the fuel filter fit in the system? Haven’t found a diagram to show this detail. I have a McCulough Model 290B with a 25cc engine.
