Because the tractor is Hot, putting cool water on the engine compartments can cause damage such as cracks and punctures from the sudden change in temperature. You should usually blow it off you can and let it sit for a moment before you can wash it down. Note ” If it is hot to touch its not good to wash till it is cool”

So can I hose off my lawnmower? Hosing off your mower is OK, but avoid spraying water on the engine and never use a pressure washer to clean your mower. Cleaning after every use is important, decaying grass will eat all your metal components.
When cleaning an electric mower do not use a hose or a pressure washer. Water can get inside the motors and cause corrosion.
Mowing wet grass can also damage your lawn mower. `Rain causes a bond between the individual blades resulting in grass clumping together which is difficult to cut evenly,` advises Andrew Gaumond of Petal Republic. These clumps can then become stuck in your mower causing it to overheat and potentially break.
Cleaning petrol lawn mowers
For all other mowers, we recommend using a bucket of warm water and a hosepipe. Petrol mowers may be weatherproof, but they are not waterproof. It is important not to get water near the engine or electrical components.
Lawn mowers can get wet as long as it doesn`t get soaked with water, a little bit of rain won`t cause any problem.
If the clippings come out of the mower in thick batches, you should rake them up. Thick bunches will occur when the grass is too high or too wet. Stay on the safe side and rake the clippings after the first mow of the spring. After this, it`s good to leave the clippings on the lawn after mowing.
You should always clean down your lawn mower each time you use it. To do so, follow these instructions below: Always wait until the engine has completely cooled down or is at least safe enough for you to put your hands on th engine without being burnt!
Flooding a lawnmower is easy to do. Turning the machine over to clean the bottom of it or remove the blades while it contains gasoline is enough to do it. Priming it too many times by pushing the primer bulb can also cause flooding.
Most lawnmower tires don`t have inner tubes, and they don`t need them to run. The rims mostly have a conventional design, where they`re made of one piece. Because of that, they don`t need an inner tube because they already don`t leak air.

I am no pro but my suggestion to you is if you have changed your spark plug recently check the gap on it and make sure it is right and make sure is the right spark plug for it. Also check the oil if it is low the motor as it gets hot will start to sputter or if it has to much oil it will have an air lock and blow you Lhead gasket after a while. Another thing to check is the air filter to make sure it is clean and check the timing with this if you don’t trust your self ask an repair expert for your brand of mower.
