Exclusive to STIHL: 3/8″ Picco Micro 3 (PM3) saw chain. This saw chain was specially designed for light, compact chainsaws and ensures less kickback and lower vibration levels. It combines exceptional cutting performance and quality with great user comfort.
The chainsaw chain should feel snug but still pull freely.
Stihl Picco Micro Comfort 3 Chain is a low-vibration low-profile saw chain with the high cutting performance of a standard chain combined with reduced kickback tendency. An all-purpose chain for use on light chain saws. Ideal for all users who appreciate power as well as comfort.
3/8″ has the same rivet measurement as 3/8LP but has a larger cutting tooth and deeper drive link than 3/8LP.
From a design standpoint, 3/32″ and 1/8″ chains are basically the same except for the width between the plates. Some people believe 1/8″ chains are inherently stronger or more durable due to their width. However, there is no strength or durability advantage to being wider.
Generally speaking, the chain should be a little loose on the chain saw guide bar, but not loose enough that the drive links come out of the bar nose. The bar links should feel like they are raising up, but not actually come out of the guide bar. Testing the tension of the chain is a fairly easy task.
The fuel line may be clogged from stale fuel deposits, more reasons to cause your chainsaw to cut out when applying throttle. If a fuel line is cracked, it will leak gasoline and draw air from outside into the fuel line. If the line is leaking fuel, it needs to be replaced.

SAW WONT START IT HAS FIRE TO THE PLUG AND IT WONT START WHEN I SHOOT A LITTLE ETHER IN IT
ANSWER : If the engine has good compression, and good spark, it should at least ‘pop’ several times. Check the flywheel ‘key’ as it may have sheared causing the ignition to be out of time. Hope this helps!

Chain saw chain is loose
ANSWER : Loosen the side cover nuts, then turn the adjuster CW to bring the chain up to the lower edge of the bar, then check to see if the chain will move fairly easily by hand. Tighten the clamp nuts and recheck tension. If chain seems to get loose quickly again, it may not be sharpened correctly causing heat to build in the chain. You should see no reflection of light from the cutting edges if filed correctly and the saw should require very little pressure for it to cut rapidly. Hope this helps!

Just getting started with a new RCS1835. The motor goes but the chain isn’t engaged. Is there another brake I need to release?
ANSWER : The plastic safety kick back may be engaged. 1) unplug the saw. 2) push the kick back safety ahead then pull it back ( it is the guard in front of the handle)
Now if your electric motor is turning, but the chain sproket is not, it may well be the clutch. Tap it with a small hammer, make sure it is free and not hanging up.

Can’t keep pole saw running. It starts fine but when i go to do something it shuts down
ANSWER : It sounds to me like you have a blockage in the high jet. There are 2 jets in the carb a HI and a LOW. If you can determine which is the high jet turn it in gently while counting how many full turns and any partial turn and write it down. (example 2 and one half turns) Then remove the high jet needle valve. Spray some carb cleaner into the hole you took the needle valve out of using the little tube that comes with the can of carb cleaner. then put the needle valve back in and turn it gently till it stops again. Now turn it back out the same amount that you wrote down. It would not hurt to do the other jet as well…
