Clogged Polaris Ranger Radiator Fins

Mud, dirt, grass and weeds all get crammed into those tiny slots all over the radiator that help it dissipate heat and provide colder coolant to the engine. When these become clogged, the radiator cannot dissipate heat properly and will very quickly cause your engine to overheat.

This is located on the left side of the engine on the cylinder.
In high gear on blacktop, a stock Polaris Ranger 900 XP can go around 60 MPH. The Polaris Ranger 900 Crew, on the other hand, has a top speed of about 50 MPH under the best of conditions.
The most common reasons a Ford Ranger is overheating are a coolant leak (water pump, radiator, hose etc.), the radiator fan, or a failed thermostat.
The 180 degree thermostat will keep your Polaris Ranger cooling system working properly.
The data may also be used to provide readings for a coolant temperature gauge on the dash. The ambient air temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the air outside the vehicle. It is often located behind the front bumper, but on some vehicles can be found in the door mirror behind the glass.
Engines can overheat for many reasons. In general, it`s because something`s wrong within the cooling system and heat isn`t able to escape the engine compartment. The source of the issue could include a cooling system leak, faulty radiator fan, broken water pump, or clogged coolant hose.
Polaris RZR Ranger 500 700 800 EFI Fuel Pump Fuel Pressure Regulator – 38-40 PSI.
A cooling system leak is the most common cause of an overheating engine. The leak could spring from your hoses, your water pump, your coolant tank, or your radiator itself, so closer inspection is needed if you see that your coolant tank has gone dry. Using the wrong coolant could also get you into trouble.
Simply put, overuse is the most common reason for overheating. However, overheating might indicate a few other problems that you should check out for your vehicle`s well-being. First, the radiator might be dirty or clogged with debris.
Leaks are the #1 reason a vehicle begins to overheat. Leaks in hoses, the radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, heater core, head gasket, freeze plugs and a few other things can all lead to problems with the vehicle`s cooling system.

How do I remove the Inlet and Outlet PVC pipes attached to the Volute? They may be sealed with a sealant or glue and am not sure if I need to remove the Volute bolts first.
ANSWER : You just have to cut the pipes in a place where you can glue them back together with a coupeling. If you overheated the pump though you may have warped the pipes and will need to go back far enough to get to good pipe and replace it all the way up to the pump. They just screw into the pump and you can seal the new ones with silicone or teflon stick or tape. Don’t use pipe dope as it is not good for plastic.

Impeller does not spin freely
ANSWER : Pop off the half dollar sized cap at the back of the motor and use an adjustable wrench to hold the back of the shaft. They make a tool for this but with a little innovation an adjustable will do the job fine. When puting the impeller back don’t tighten it more than hand tight and don’t bump the motor on to seat it, this will overtighten it. You may have crossthreaded the impeller and will need to tap it out or replace it.

Water is leaking from around the end where the compression ring is located. The pump is a Polaris Halcyon PB460Q.
ANSWER : The rubber inside the spring is probably bad. You will have to remove it and the other half of the seal and replace it If you remove it and take it to a pool store they can tell what seal it is. Or you can take the back half of the pump with the motor still attached and they can do this for you.
With this leaking the water will get sucked into the motor and ruin it. So it is important that you get this done as soon as possible.
