For most effective results, a lawn mower deck should have a pitch, or height difference of 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch between the front of the deck to the back of the deck. Naturally, this makes the sweet spot about 1/4-inch of pitch, depending on the mower model.

Replacing the Mower Deck
Slide the deck under the machine and push it rearward to replace the belt on the engine pulley. Then move the deck forward until it`s in position to lift the back end and re-hang it on the rear support bracket.
Removal of the deck would be extremely helpful when replacing any belt on the lawn mower. On some models you may not have to for the two lower belts, but it would still make the replacement procedure quicker and easier.
A mower deck spindle is a component of a lawnmower that connects the blade to the deck of the mower. The spindle has two bearings that allow the blade to spin, and a pulley that drives the blade via a belt.
When deck is raised, set desired height with the deck height control dial, then lower deck with the raise / lower switch.

ANSWER : Download the product manual from the Sears website. Murray manufactured these tractors so you can download the manual from the Murray website also. Procedure for replacing the mower deck belt is quite simple. No need to remove the deck. Spring location also on diagrams. Mower deck parts diagram breaks down the whole assembly. Easier way to remove pulleys is using an impact wrench, otherwise hold the blade while removig the nut that holds the pulley in place. Use a heavy glove to hold the blade for safety!
