BRING A DEAD PALM TREE BACK TO LIFE. If you think your palm tree is dead, there are some things you can do to bring it back to life. Proper watering, pruning and fertilizing your dying palm tree will is the best way to bring it back to life.
If you notice that no new fronds are growing, it could signify that the tree is dead. Brown or yellow fronds: Palm fronds that are brown or yellow are usually a sign of a dead or dying palm tree. Dry, brittle fronds: Palm fronds that are dry and brittle to the touch indicate that the tree may be dead.
Overwatering or underwatering can damage your palm tree. An excess of water may cause the fronds to turn yellow or brown, eventually dying off completely. Underwatering will dry out the leaves, turning them to a shade of brown, as well.
2) Dead and dying fronds and loose petioles are weakly attached to some palms and can place people and property at risk should they fall from tall palms. People have been severely injured by falling fronds. Dead and dying palm fronds should be removed regularly to reduce this risk.
Pruning palm trees is actually quite simple. Remove dead fronds and old fruit stems. Once the old fronds turn completely brown, it`s safe to prune them from the palm. Just make sure you wait until there is no green left on the frond.
Palm trees have relatively short lifespans
Compared to many hardwood trees, palms don`t live particularly long. The areca palm has a fairly short lifespan of 40 to 50 years, while the popular coconut palm lives between 70 and 100 years, and most date palms hang on for 100 to 120 years.
Summary. Thielaviopsis trunk rot is caused by the fungus Thielaviopsis paradoxa. Due to this disease, the palm trunk either collapses on itself or the canopy suddenly falls off the trunk, often without warning. The palm canopy may appear healthy prior to collapse.
The tree isn`t getting enough water; The soil is short on key nutrients like nitrogen or magnesium; Pesky palm tree weevils, spider mites, aphids or some other insect got a hold of your tree; A fungal infection like Ganoderma root rot is at work; or.
The first symptom of infection is withering and drooping of older fronds. Fronds collapse and droop parallel to the trunk. New growth is stunted and is pale green or yellow. The head of the infected palm may fall off or the trunk collapse.
Whenever a palm tree is cut at its trunk level, it will NOT grow back. Palm tree growth can only occur at base level referred to as the growing tip, which is located at the base of the trunk. Severing this part of the tree will terminate the palm`s life. The growth process will differ based on the species of the palm.
Dried palm leaves will last for years and don`t require watering or any maintenance.

How do you use roundup to kill a tree stump? – Roundup "" Weed & Grass Killer
ANSWER : Hello, I am a grower and licensed pesticides applicator (40 yrs exp).
Roundup lost the trade mark years ago,”glyphosphate” which is now marketed (cheaper) under many other names,
Will kill a live tree if sprayed on the leaves! Also will damage young trees if you just get over spray on the trunk while spraying weeds.
Also, kills grass as well as broadleaved plants.
To kill a tree you would need to spray the leaves, then wait at least a month before cutting the tree down. I have successfully killed a few stumps by spraying the live suckers.
Be especially careful of spray drift as the finer the droplets are the more effective the chemical is. Read the label!
My 128LD is just about 1 yr. old. It has sat thru the winter with gas in the tank. This is the first time I’ve had it out this spring. When I push the primer bulb no gas is visible. Could the oil in the gas have separated and blocked the lines to the carb? They look clear. I’m having trouble trying to remove the lines. Can they be cleaned using a pipe cleaner or other small object or am I barking up the wrong tree?

4 lamp t5 fixture, 1 black wire, 1 white wire, 1 red wire. how do I wire this
ANSWER : Don’t forget this is a 240v appliance so it must be fed from a 240v circuit breaker. Once you have a 240v circuit breaker you need to run 12/3 wire with ground from circuit breaker to a box near your fixture. The 12/3 wire with ground will have; 1 black, 1 white, 1 red and a bare ground wire. With the circuit breaker OFF, hook the wires up respectively to the same colors and ground the bare wires togather with a green ground screw in the box. Turn circuit breaker on.
